FENG/HUANG and PUAVARANUKROH/PAEWSAMPRAN into the mixed double's final

The pairs FENG Yan Zhe/HUANG Dong Ping (No. 2, China) and Dechapol PUAVARANUKROH/Supissara PAEWSAMPRAN (No. 4, Thailand) advanced to the final of the Yonex IFB after each winning their matches in three sets. While the Chinese are aiming for an unprecedented double in mixed doubles, the Thais are looking to make their mark in the competition for the first time in history.

The big eight for FENG/HUANG?

On 25 October 2023, here at the Glaz Arena during the Yonex IFB, the Hong Kong pair TANG Chun Man/TSE Ying Suet defeated the Chinese pair FENG Yan Zhe/HUANG Dong Ping in the round of 32. Two years later, with a place in the final of this Super 750 tournament at stake, the story is different.

After an indecisive match that lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes, the Chinese pair, seeded number 2, won 20/22 21/17 21/16. In sparkling form since January, they will attempt to win their eighth tournament of the year by achieving a double that has never been achieved in mixed doubles in the history of the Yonex IFB.

PUAVARANUKROH / PAEWSAMPRAN want to confirm their position.

But the task will not be easy against Dechapol PUAVARANUKROH/Supissara PAEWSAMPRAN (No. 4, Thailand), who wore down CHRISTIANSEN/BØJE in three sets (21-16, 14-21, 21-14). The Danes, who had achieved the feat of knocking out world No. 1 JIANG/WEI in the round of 16 before shattering the dreams of France's GICQUEL/DELRUE in the next round, failed to reach the final.

The two pairs have faced each other four times, all in 2025. The score is two wins each. Their last encounter was two weeks ago at the Arctic Open in Finland. In the semi-finals, FENG and HUANG won in three sets after 1 hour and 2 minutes of play. The final, which is logical given the year's rankings – Thailand is first and China second – promises to be intense and spectacular, without a doubt!
